At Alternatives Beauty™, we believe that beauty is more than skin deep — it’s a powerful tool for healing, self-expression, and self-worth. We are on a mission to uplift and empower minority women and children facing some of life’s toughest challenges.
From financial barriers that prevent aspiring cosmetologists from pursuing their dreams, to the lack of culturally appropriate wigs for women battling medical hair loss, we address gaps that are too often overlooked.
Our programs provide education, confidence-building beauty services, and emotional support to those who need it most — including domestic abuse survivors, children in foster care, and women recovering from illness or trauma.
We believe everyone should be able to afford school and graduate debt free. Many cosmetology schools are very expensive and do not offer the courses Alternatives Beauty School offer. We ARE “Next Level Cosmetology”.

Our founder, Tesha, knows these struggles intimately. A foster child for 9 years, separated from her siblings and having lost her mother to domestic violence, Tesha turned to hair styling as a way to earn money, gain confidence, and begin healing. That experience fuels our commitment today: to offer free workshops, one-on-one beauty care, and transitional resources that restore hope and dignity.
